I was expecting Eisbein and Apfelstrudel in Swakopmund, a town everyone told us is more German than Germany, but I was not prepared for what I found. There were German magazines in the doctor's waiting room.
German sweets for sale in the supermarket (yay for Katzenpfötchen and Blockmalz). There was a Poststrasse and a Bismarckstrasse.
Everything from the optician to the Apotheke was signposted in German, the service improved immeasurably once I started speaking German to people, and then I came across a Tchibo shop, and my German experience was complete.
